LOAD BANKS - what are they?

Uninterruptible power systems and their components such as generators, ATS systems, power transformers, electrical switchgear and UPSs require regular service runs under load, and often check for efficiency, actual performance and correctness of completed electrical connections. That's why we have developed a device that makes it possible to generate an artificial load for an electric power source. The load bank can mimic the actual behavior of the load i.e.: uneven loading of phases or load spikes during startup, but it does so in a predictable and fully controlled manner.

Our offer includes load banks with a wide range of applications:

  •  Resistive load banks. Resistive load banks are devices that make it possible to load any power system and simulate the operation of loads. They generate power consumption with cos fi = 1. They are versatile devices used when testing generators, ATS systems, switchgears, power transformers, UPSs, as well as precision air conditioning and alternative power sources (RES).
  • Load banks with inductive, capacitive and resistive RLC characteristics. When testing power systems only with a we will not check 100% of the power source, because most manufacturers give the rated parameters of generators at cos fi = 0.8 and not at the value of cos fi = 1 that a typical resistor has. This type of load reflects the actual load on the facility.
  • DC load banks and discharge resistors are devices dedicated to load testing of DC power supplies, UPSs, traction and buffer batteries.
  • MV load banks above 1kV will be used in large power plants to perform efficiency tests on transformers, power plants, RES
