Additional load resistors – LBK
Load resistors of the LBk and LBkg series with a power of 10 to 1000 kW are used to load power generators. This is necessary when the generator is loaded below approx. 30% of its rated power. Working at such a low load is not recommended by manufacturers. Failure to comply with their guidelines may result in the loss of warranty for the device. Thanks to properly selected resistors, it is possible to properly load the system and thus guarantee its proper operation.
Load resistors for tests
Test load resistors are necessary to periodically check the performance of emergency power systems. An artificial load is generated by the resistor. It allows to check whether the generator is efficient under the given conditions, or whether you should take a closer look at its operation and service it. It should be remembered that during the required and regular tests of the generators, we do not always have the opportunity to switch and test them under the object load, so it is worth using load resistors.
Automation of load resistors
The devices we produce are made both for outdoor use – on the roof, and for indoor use – in the discharge of the unit's ventilation duct. Optionally, in resistors of this type, we use automatic load control, which works perfectly when the object load varies between 10 – 90% during the operation of the device. This type of automation allows to reduce fuel consumption, as well as to "reserve" the power that the generator is to take over. Automation detects the load condition of the unit and keeps it at an appropriate, minimum level determined by the user or the manufacturer of the device.
