Construction

The housings are made of steel, stainless steel or aluminum. Powder coated with scratch resistant structure with zinc backing or varnished with professional paints. Housing in stardard is painted in RAL 7016 color and thermally insulated. At the customer's special request, the housing can be painted in any color.

Fans

Depending on the housing, we use different fans. In devices up to 300kW, we use single-phase fans with a power of 210 or 350 W, with metal blades that have an air capacity of up to 6570 m3/h. However, in the case of larger housings, we use three-phase fans. Fan impellers are made of pressure cast polyamide (PAG) and reinforced with glass fiber. In addition, all our load banks have rotation sensors that monitor the operation of fans for the safety of operation and equipment.

Resistors

Resistors are the most important element of our load banks, which is why we make every effort to make them durable, resistant to damage and overheating and made of the best materials:
- resistor made in the form of a tube - AISI316L or AISI321 stainless steel
- resistance bar made of the highest quality KHANTAL alloy
- heat sink increasing the heat reception area made of stainless steel tape (optional)

Induction and capacitive phase converters.

All induction elements are manufactured on special order so that they can meet the demanding requirements that we place on our products, among others, temperature, overload or a wider range of voltages. Capacitive elements are selected depending on the type of work. The above components are used to generate inductive and capacitive reactive power in our devices.

Power connection

The method of connecting the power supply varies depending on the customer's needs, however, we can distinguish the 3 most popular solutions. In stationary devices, we use copper rails, to which power cables are connected directly. They are located inside the device, which prevents accidental shock, as well as disconnection of wires by unauthorized persons.
Another solution is a power sockets from 16A to 125A. This is the fastest and easiest way to connect power for low-power devices. Used in single, two and three-phase applications.
For high-power devices, we use PowerSyntax quick connectors. The connectors have a current resistance of up to 750A. Fire-resistant housing made of polyamide with a higher flame retardant class (UL 94-V0), durable construction, ergonomic shape for quick assembly and disassembly, IP 67 degree of protection, screw clamp for connecting cables from 25mm² to 300 mm², line/phase information has been embossed on the connector shell to prevent confusion, connectors in harmonized colors, in accordance with European standards and have a safety key that does not allow connecting the phase, e.g. L1 to L2.

PWO

The load bank's own needs are powered from a different source than the tested one, so that in the event of a failure of the tested source, the device can safely cool down the resistors and finish the work. In devices with single-phase fans, the load bank has a single-phase 3p 16A socket, while in the case of devices with three-phase fans, the three-phase 5p 32A sockets or when we have a larger number of fans, the 5p 63A socket. The connection also allows to maintain a safe humidity level of the device to protect the electronics and prevents water condensation through the anti-condensation heater.

Power cables

To power our devices we use TITANEX® PREMIUM H07RN-F 450/750V cables. Thanks to double insulation, they are very resistant to mechanical damage, as well as very flexible. The outer shell is a special elastomer with high mechanical properties. The cables are resistant to oils, greases, etc. which increases their scope of application.

Control

Our devices are equipped with a PLC, which controls and supervises the operation of the load bank. Thanks to this, the control part of the device is simplified as much as possible, because the entire logic of operation is located inside the program. The HMI panel with which we control the device has several load setting modes, preview of measurements (fan rotation, temperature, electrical parameters, time for inspection and many others) also in the form of graphs, as well as the ability to edit the settings of the device's operating parameters.

Power quality analyzer

The analysis of electrical measurements of the tested source is a very important element of the tests, which is why we use Socomec or Camila Bauer meters in our devices to ensure that our measurements are in line with reality. It measures the most important parameters every 1s.
For the classification of power generators, we use Aplus analyzers. The measurement accuracy class is 0.1%, it takes measurements every 40ms, and current transformers are used in the 0.2s class.

Remote controls

Load banks can be controlled not only via the main panel on the device. We offer a set of remote controls with different parameters to meet the requirements of as many customers as possible. For more detailed information, please visit the Remote controls and control panels tab.

Safeguards

Load banks have a number of safeguards to make their use as safe as possible. From the electrical parameters, we can distinguish such protections as: over-current, short-circuit, overload, over-voltage, under-voltage, under-frequency, over-frequency. In addition, we secure the operation of the fan through a rotation sensor and monitor the temperature inside the device as well as at the hot air outlet using analogue and digital sensors.

Transportation

The housings are designed in such a way that they can be transported in different ways. From the bottom, they have a reinforcement so that they can be carried with a forklift or a hand pallet truck. From the top, special transport brackets are installed to allow the attachment of chains or belts.

Top and bottom extensions

Our latest solution are top and bottom extensions mounted on devices.
The cable bin creates a very comfortable space on the top of the device, where we can store all the necessary tools and accessories needed to work with the load bank. Thanks to this, we will always have what we need at hand.

The transport base further strengthens the base of the device, and if over time it is damaged by continuous transport, it is very easy to replace it. The whole set also allows you to store devices on top of each other.
