ISO 50001 and the reality of your company... or how to bring the guaranteed power system to optimum efficiency and reduce costs

Certyfikat ISO 50001We have introduced the ISO 50001 standard - Energy Management System. We will use it in our production hall and we will certainly benefit from it. This standard is applicable to the management of various types of energy, but in most companies it is worth focusing at the beginning on electricity, the way of consumption of which often allows to introduce savings.

What can I write about ISO 50001 without disclosing legally protected data and without duplicating content from other sites?

The primary objective of this PL-EN ISO 50001 standard is to assist organizations in developing the systems and processes necessary to improve energy performance, including energy efficiency and energy use and consumption. The implementation of ISO 50001 should lead to a reduction in greenhouse gas emissions, energy costs and other environmental impacts through systematic energy management. This standard applies to organizations of all types and sizes, regardless of geographical, cultural and social conditions.

ISO 50001 defines the requirements for an energy management system, according to which any organization can develop and implement an energy policy, objectives, targets and action plans that take into account legal requirements and allow for the collection and use of information on energy use.

So many theories.

  1. Would it be difficult to implement ISO 50001 in my organization? No. The Energy Management System, like most currently used standards and methodologies, is configurable and can be adapted to the needs of any company (in accordance with the standard dictionary: Organization), regardless of its size and organizational structure. ISO 50001 is based on the principle of continuous improvement, it allows to target those places that generate energy losses and their gradual elimination. According to the set scope (e.g. the introduction of a standard can only cover electricity in a specific location).
  2. Why has been ISO 50001 created? Each of us tries to live and work in harmony with the natural environment, each turns off the light when leaving the office... I recently left the light on in the production hall for almost the whole weekend. Let's multiply this small oversight by the number of employees. Or let's find some other issue - even poor ergonomics of the workplace, which causes working time costs and may result in unnecessary electricity consumption.
A slight improvement in ergonomics can reduce your electricity bill by up to a few percent. Changing light bulbs - where justified, can improve energy efficiency and reduce the electrical dimension of production costs by up to 40%.
  3. What is ISO 50001 - Energy Management System? Like any environmental standard, ISO 50001 streamlines the process of continuous improvement in a variety of organizations, from a few-person micro-enterprises to large, multinational corporations, and helps minimize a company's negative environmental impact and reduce the cost of its operations. The introduction of ISO 50001 can support activities aimed at increasing the social responsibility of the organization. And I will not hide, it is conducive to building a positive image of the brand.

So much for consultation.

How can PROtotypownia affect the implementation of ISO 50001 and/or... reduce the costs associated with electricity and minimize the negative impact on the environment?

Example 1.
We test guaranteed power supply systems by simulating the load generated by your company, check the places of potential irregularities and detect all locations of potential energy losses resulting from, for example, overheating of contacts. We perform each test without the risk of damage to the equipment and machines used by you.

The tests are performed using technically advanced measuring devices (four-quadrant power quality analyzer, thermal imaging camera) and innovative resistive load banks, enabling the test to be carried out in accordance with the ISO standard corresponding to power generators or in accordance with other recommendations.
As a standard, we make load banks with a load step of 1 kW and an advanced control system.

Example 2.
Taking advantage of several years of experience with guaranteed power supply systems, but looking at them with a fresh eye (ask about the innovations we have introduced to the market), we propose solutions that can reduce the demand for electricity. We analyze everything that we can find on the facility (often up to 95%* of the existing power system can be preserved or used in a different way), we verify the demand for power availability for individual devices. In the case of devices generating a step increase in electricity demand, we offer cheap and non-generating operating costs solutions such as a frequency converter (inverter). We always keep in mind the quality, efficiency, safety and price of our solutions for guaranteed power systems. Check out our offer for power generators and ask about innovative ATS systems - fully tailored to your needs.

* due to costs

Example 3.
As we have already written on this Blog, we can reduce the power of the generator set you need up to 6 times(!) and as a result reduce the cost of the generator set by up to 300%. We can equip a standard power generator so that it can fully safely power pumps, milking machines, diodes or other devices with a large start-up power consumption at up to 6 times less power generated than indicated by the specification of your devices. At the same time, we equip the generator set with a system that allows you to control your devices (see the article regarding a generator set with an inverter). At Prototypownia, we realize what seems impossible with a standard view of uninterruptible power systems..

Example 4.
We manufacture and sell resistive load banks characterized by several innovative features, including:
- real response time
- an extensive, proprietary controller enabling, among others, testing of power generators in accordance with the guidelines of PN-ISO 8528, self-test and others.

Load banks are used to test guaranteed power systems and their components. Their proper use is able to significantly contribute to verifying the quality of electricity and reducing losses.

We are constantly evolving, so to check out our latest offer, check out our load banks offer or write to us.

Example 5.
Synchronization. Usually, you only need the electrical power provided by the professional network, but from time to time you start a machine that requires more "electricity". Or you are sufficient on a daily basis with a small generator, but sometimes you need more power. At Prototypownia, we realize grid-generator and generator-generator synchronization, often with many more complicated configurations of generators and grids.
Synchronization allows to reduce the operating costs of purchased devices, favors the environment and allows you to manage electricity in a more sustainable way. You can find more in the synchronization offer.

Why do we need ISO 50001? It helps to cut costs, protects the environment. And as one of the highest standards currently available, it is a confirmation of the company's credibility (it is trendy ;-) )

You don't have to use ISO 50001 to save money. And to foster the environment. We will help you to implement the assumptions of this standard regardless of whether you enter extensive documentation in your company or apply for a certificate.
